Hi, I’m Renae Oswald.

I’ve been where you are

When I was a new nurse, I had a mentor who saw my potential for leadership that I did not see. She pushed me to do more and take on more responsibility and my confidence grew. I started to believe that I could become a leader like she was some day.

The problem was, when I took on these roles, I didn’t really feel like I knew what I was doing.

I was a good nurse but being a good nurse did not automatically equate to being a good leader. I modeled what I saw in my mentors but I also desperately wanted to be liked by the staff, so I ended up in situations where my leadership was resented and it reinforced my feelings of inadequacy that I had no business being a leader.

Over the years, I have learned so much that I want share with that new and insecure leader that I once was, and I want to provide them with the tools and tactics that will help them avoid the same pitfalls that I fell in to.

2009 WAS MY TURNING POINT

In 2009, I took an accountability assessment by Linda Galindo which gave me insight into myself and my motivations that I didn’t like. It reinforced my self-belief that I was a responsible person but it was very clear that I was not an accountable person.

Learning the difference between responsibility and accountability and how I NEVER had to be a victim of my circumstances was liberating to me. It reduced my stress, increased my productivity, increased my job satisfaction and provided me a way to step up and be an amazing leader.

These tools were so powerful in my life, not just at work but at home as a wife and mother. I want to share this knowledge and these tools with others so they too can completely own the outcome of their lives.

Nurse for 30+ years
business owner for 15+ Years

Having the privilege of being a nurse for 30+ years, with over 20 of those years in leadership, I feel that I have learned and implemented many leadership qualities.

In addition, being a business owner with my husband for over 15 years has also provided me the opportunity to lead different types of teams and grow a business. Check out the Oswald Service website to the see the business that has been a mainstay in Idaho Falls for decades.

My personal definition of success is to mentor others to have confidence in their decision to be a leader and to help them become the best leader they can and want to be. When I get to do that on a daily basis it “lights me up” and I find great joy in being able to give back and create the leaders of tomorrow.
